Hi, I’m Corey O’Flanagan and I love adventure! I took my first long backpacking trip over 16 years ago (wow) to SE Asia. That experience ingrained in me a passion for exploring new places and meeting new people. I love hearing their stories and I hope that through this podcast, we can share some of those stories with you.
As we were preparing for the next adventure, I was doing the normal reading of travel blogs to gather knowledge and to build excitement for the trip. One night, I just could not sleep and thought I would try and find a podcast about backpacking to help me with my slumber. Much to my surprise, I could not find one that spoke of a traveler’s mindset!
We want to invite you to listen, watch and enjoy as we share our journey with you! Along the way we will interview people with fascinating tales of being on the road, bring you information about places we go and hopefully inspire you to get out and see all the amazing things this small world of ours has to offer.
I’m Lianne Davidson and I am curious to see what else there is in the world. I left my home country back in November 2014 and have never looked back. I set off in search of a different lifestyle. Being a true beach bum and fed up with the English weather, I left London looking to see what other lifestyle choices there were. Little did I know, I was going on an indefinite journey.
Always being a curious and friendly person, I have been intrigued about the world for as long as I can remember. I wanted to know what was happening on the other side, was the grass actually greener?
There have been highs and there have been lows. I’ve learned a new language and fallen in and out of love. Seen mountains, rivers, oceans and deserts. No one said life on the road was easy, but its been one hell of an a journey and one of the best decisions I have ever made. Traveling is my passion and I want to share that with everyone. Whether you’re thinking about packing your bags or have never even dreamed of it, listening to our podcasts will introduce you to people of all walks of life. No matter their age, race, religion or birthplace, meeting people is an amazing aspect of travel and such a privilege. We hope you enjoy meeting them as we do and also pick up some tips and maybe even have a few laughs along the way.
Of course our little family is not complete without the nucleus, our beloved pup, Charley (or Chuck). Originally adopted in 2011 by Corey in Atlanta, Charley has been at his side ever since. After convincing Lianne that small dogs are better, and giving her the Charley seal of approval hand (paw) lick, to show she was now in “the pack,” the 3 of us plan to travel and explore! Equally up for a day of relaxation or hiking, Charley fits perfectly in with our travels and we wouldn’t have it any other way.
